The Girlfriend Experience (2009)

This movie, directed by Stephen Soderbergh, is about the daily life of a quite young, sophisticated, high class hooker. Real life porn star Sasha Grey plays Christine, the New York city call girl who is also in a committed relationship and trying to expand her reputation to secure her career during the economic crisis. You see her meet with several clients, journalists, and promoters as part of her job but you also get a peak into her personal life at home with her boyfriend. As the movie progresses you begin to see tension build between her and her boyfriend who may only appear to be supportive of her career and lifestyle. It ends abruptly with no real conclusion, which is fitting because you only realize the what the plot has been in the last ten minutes of the film.
It's loose plot is more loosely explained by scenes played out in non-chronological order. Without explaining the context, each scene includes a conversation loosely having something to do with her exploits but never failing to mention the economic crisis or the 2008 election.
Despite my negative comments, I wouldn't call this a terrible movie, especially for one who likes experimental films. Though it has a surprisingly little amount of T&A, it has lots of interesting cinematography and it's an appealing idea for a film.
